Deleting the cache

All settings for our apps are stored in a 'config' file ('prefs' in older apps), located in the OS application data space. If the application/plugin is not starting, it may be because this file is corrupted. Deleting it may therefore resolve the problem.

Please note that after deleting the prefs file, you will need to reactivate the product again.

On Windows

C:\Users\[Your username]\AppData\Roaming\New Sonic Arts\[Product name]\prefs

The AppData folder may be hidden. You can enable viewing of hidden in Windows Explorer by via the ‘View’ > ‘Options’ menu.

On OSX

[hd]/Users/[Your username]/Library/Application Support/New Sonic Arts/[Product name]/prefs

This path may be hidden. However you can jump to the Library path by opening Finder, opening the ‘Go’ menu, and then pressing ‘Alt’. A link to the Library path will then appear.

Other temporary files may also be present in this folder, and for troubleshooting it is safe to delete them all. For example, Freestyle stores scanned plugin data in a file called '64bitPlugins.dat'.
