Quickly find, preview and hot-swap loops via the integrated browser, and slice them in an instant with the advanced transient-detection algorithm. Sync perfectly with your DAW via the beat-locked Play Mode or trigger slices on-the-fly via your MIDI controller.
Create new loops from old by re-sequencing them direct in your DAWs piano-roll, and bounce and export the entire loop - or individual slices - via the convenient drag-and-drop export feature.
Want to get deeper? Then delve into Vice's extensive FX and modulation capabilities, including 4 x FX slots per-slice. Route out slices to your DAW mixer via multiple outputs, and automate or MIDI assign virtually any parameter of any slice via the Assignment Manager.
With a perfect combination of workflow and sound-quality, Vice will soon become your go-to tool for working with loops.
"Vice is the best slicer plugin I have used in my 25-year music career."
"Fast, easy to use, user-friendly and with an elegant modern design (which fits perfectly with Logic Pro X)."
Frank's extensive production credits include Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg and Saigon.
"What I dig about the design is how clean it is, how smooth the visuals are... how powerful it is without being overly complex."
"...a super quick and powerful way to mangle up your loops and breaks."
Vice 1.265 adds the ability to non-destructively trim your loops, direct within the waveform display. So its now possible to work with non-perfect loops and sync them with your DAW transport.
The update also features OSX Retina / HD support, which takes Vice's OpenGL powered waveform display to a new-level of clarity and detail.
Plus, Enhanced Export Options now include the option to render the entire loop at the current BPM, as well as export individual slices and/or the MIDI sequence.
Simply drop any loop onto Vice's large waveform display to immediately transform it into an expressive drum-kit or playable musical instrument. Three auto-slicing algorithms are available, including intelligent transient detection, grid based slicing (e.g. 16ths), plus full manual slicing for total control over slice creation.
Slices can be quickly adjusted with automatic snap-to-zero-crossings, and for sample-precise detailed editing, quickly zoom-in an out of slices with the smooth-zooming waveform. Creating new slices is just a mouse-click away, and with full edit history feel free to experiment!
Once your perfect groove is ready, quickly get it tempo-synced into your DAW project via simple MIDI drag-and-drop.
Or drag out individual slices as post-FX rendered samples with the drag to audio feature.
Vice's tweaking abilities don't stop there - the state-of-the-art sound engine boasts a wide range of sound-sculpting parameters, all per-slice.
The powerful FX section features 4 x FX slots, and a choice of 8 high-quality algorithms, including analog modelled filters, dynamics processing, and a suite of texturing effects. And if that's not enough, you can process your slices further in your DAW via Vice's 8 x multiple outputs.
The extensive modulation system includes support for MIDI sources, such as Velocity, PitchBend and ModWheel as well as the internal per-slice modulators, including Envelope, LFO and Randomisation, all of which can be freely routed to any real-time parameter.
The integrated File Browser enables quick and easy navigation of your loops and presets, including on-the-fly Sample Audition and a Cycle Mode for quickly locating that perfect groove.
Vice supports .wav and .aiff, and presets can be saved with samples for total peace-of-mind. Vice can also embed samples within your DAW's project files, ideal for project sharing and working collaboratively.
The Assignment Manager offers full control over host-automation and MIDI CC mapping to all real-time parameters, so you can create the perfect live-setup or automate individual slice parameters in your DAW.
